William J. Wollyung III, CPA

President and CEO

Bill has been with Aegis Security Insurance Company for 24 years. He began his career with the company in 1992 as Controller, then in 1998 was promoted to Chief Financial Officer which has led to his present day role of CEO/President. During Bill’s leadership in his financial role, Aegis had grown from $25M in gross premiums to over $125M today. He and the financial team were responsible for all financial functions related to financial reporting as well as the regulatory environment for the insurance entities. During his tenure, and in the entrepreneurial spirit of Aegis’ founder, Bill also assisted with start-up companies which led to a working knowledge of a variety of industries. In 2008 Bill lead the development and implementation of a long-term strategic plan across the entire group that supported controlled profitable growth devoted to risk management and customer relationships for which the company was founded.

Prior to joining Aegis Security, Bill worked in the public accounting industry, initially with Ernst & Young and then with a regional firm, Smoker, Smith & Associates. During his eight years in public accounting, he worked with a diverse clientele, from hospitality to the construction industry.

Bill graduated from Shippensburg University in 1985 with a BSBA in Accounting and earned his Certified Public Accounting license in 1987. He currently resides in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania as well as spends time in Oakland Park, Florida. He is involved in various non-profit activities supporting his local community. He is also a member of the AICPA and PICPA organizations.

Brett Crise

Chief Financial Officer

Brett Crise has over 27 years of experience in the Property and Casualty Insurance Industry. Brett joined the Aegis Group in 1998 and was promoted to Controller in 2005. He has enjoyed being a part of the steadily growing company and overseeing the success of the accounting team. In 2016, he was promoted to Chief Financial Officer. Brett spent the first 10 years of his career at Old Republic Insurance Company in Greensburg, PA, where he filled many different roles which included preparation of internal and external financial statements, regulatory filings, and risk management accounting. Brett received a B.S. in Management/Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh. He also holds the AIAF designation. He resides in Mount Holly Springs, PA with his wife and two sons.

Darleen Fritz

Chief Risk Officer

Upon graduation from Penn State University, Darleen Fritz began her career as a high school teacher. Darleen later joined the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue where she worked in several management positions, ultimately becoming Deputy Secretary for Administration. After leaving the Department of Revenue, she joined Aegis Security Insurance Company and has been with the company for over 25 years, holding several positions including Vice President of Operations and Administration, President (1997-2015), and Chief Risk officer (2016-present).

Darleen obtained a BS Degree and an Insurance Program Certificate from Penn State University. She resides in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania with her husband, Gene.

Nigel Shepherd, J.D., CPCU, ARe

Executive Vice President – Chief Claims Officer

In March 2017, Nigel Shepherd joined the Aegis Security Insurance Company team as EVP and Chief Claims Officer. Prior to joining the Aegis team, he served as an executive member of New York Property Insurance Underwriting Association’s (NYPIUA) Leadership team, where he held the position of Executive Vice President- Head of Claims and Operations. In 2007, Nigel founded ROC Capital Management LLC, a boutique consulting firm focused on property and casualty insurance and reinsurance matters. In 2005, Nigel relocated to London, England as the Global Head of Claims for Aspen Specialty Insurance Company. He also served as the Chief Claims Officer for Alea Insurance Group, and previously held the SVP of Claims position at Converium Reinsurance Corp. Nigel began his career with Allstate Insurance, AIG and NAC Reinsurance respectively.

Nigel holds a Juris Doctorate from Pace School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Syracuse University. Nigel is a member of the NYS Bar, and holds both the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriting (CPCU) and the Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designations. Nigel is a member of the Board of Directors for the Loss Executives Association (LEA) and the National Afro-American Insurance Association (NAAIA)- NY Chapter.
